Serve on a Team
WHIMA has many teams that serve to advance the strategic plan of the association. These include: Annual Conference Team; Fall Conference Team; Legal Resource Manual Team; HIM Link Team; Professional Practice Manual Team; E-Communication Team; Workshop Team; Scholarships; Spirit Team; and, Logo Wear Team. Terms run July-June, annually. For more details about each team, the team role and time commitments go to Volunteer Teams. Serve on the WHIMA Board of Directors
Members of the board of directors are elected by ballot in February of every year. To be eligible to sit on the board, you must be an Active member of AHIMA/WHIMA. Nominations are solicited each fall from the membership at large and the slate of nominees is finalized by the WHIMA Nominating Committee. Publications
Individuals may submit articles for publication in the HIM Link. Articles are reviewed by the Link Editorial Board and chosen for publication in a variety of topic areas. The Link is published quarterly. The Legal Resource Manual Team annually prepares the update to WHIMA's Legal Resource Manual. Help the team to write a new section or revise a section of the manual in your area of expertise.
Presentations
Each year, over 100 individuals are chosen to make presentations at a variety of WHIMA sponsored educational events. Typically the topics and speakers for the Annual Conference and Exhibition are selected in the fall of the preceding year. The Fall Conference Team selects the theme and topics in early spring of each year. Contact Sandy Bissen at sbissen@whima.org for more information.
