Electronic Medical Record
Wisconsin Health Information Technology Extension Center

Definition & Standards Benefits Features WHITEC EMR Resources

WHITEC—The Wisconsin Health Information Technology Extension Center—is the federally designated HIT regional extension center (REC) for the state of Wisconsin.  The organization itself is a non-profit consortium whose members include the Wisconsin Medical Society, the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative, the Wisconsin Primary Health Care Association, the Wisconsin Hospital Association, and MetaStar (the designated Quality Improvement Organization for the state of Wisconsin ). The purpose of WHITEC, like its fifty-nine sister RECs across the nation, is to provide education and technical assistance to help Wisconsin health care professionals select, implement, and achieve meaningful use of electronic health record technology.
