Job Description:

The Risk Adjustment Coding Specialist champions risk adjustment strategies and processes across the SSM Agnesian system and in value based care contracts with the goal of maximizing complete and accurate diagnosis coding and documentation.

There are two primary objectives for this position:

1) maximize correct coding and documentation opportunities for patients in value based care contracts
2) systemize complete and accurate coding and documentation practices across the SSM Agnesian system.

This position works closely with the Quality and Revenue nurse to maximize overall performance in value based care contracts.  This position works closely with the Professional Coding team to coordinate efforts.

Office will be located in Fond du Lac on Main Street in the Marian University – Center for Health Professionals Building at 30 S. Main St.  Majority of travel to Fond du Lac main campus with some travel to various clinic locations in the Fond du Lac, Ripon, Waupun and surrounding communities as required.

Required Qualifications:

RHIA or RHIT, CPC or CCS graduate or equivalent experience is required; minimum 3 years professional coding experience and/or Risk Adjustment.  Certification as a  Risk Adjustment Coder is beneficial. Previous experience in Risk Adjustment. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, to meet time sensitive deadlines, and to organize workload with minimal supervision. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, to meet time sensitive deadlines, and to organize workload with minimal supervision. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel proficiency required. Excellent communication skills, skilled at presenting information to large groups, especially providers/physicians and executives. Must be able to travel to other cities for educational purposes.
