Job Description:

Performs administrative support duties in support of unit program. May serve as the primary contact person or customer service representative and subject matter expert for physician’s for health and wellness providers, services, or programs with a strong knowledge base supporting program, policies, and procedures. Provides administrative duties in support of unit program goals to providers, services or program by tracking, prioritizing, organizing and completing multiple ongoing clinical, research or academic projects in various stages of progress. Requires HIPAA/PPE knowledge or training.

Principal duties:

Performs administrative tasks including telephone customer service, word processing, transcribing, filing, and calendaring

Acts as the primary liaison for providers or program and referring providers, agencies, patients, and staff

Assists in coordinating the complex daily activities of providers or program by entering information into databases, maintaining files and materials, and preparing reports

Serves as the primary contact and subject matter expert for specified program policies and procedures

Coordinates with senior management to define program goals and fiscal objectives

Identifies opportunities for program improvements and makes recommendations to the appropriate entities

Schedules logistics and secures or distributes resources for program meetings, department events, conferences, and travel

Required Qualifications:

Independent decision making abilities are required.

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ideal candidate will have administrative experience in a medical office, insurance office, or similar fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of the creation, documentation, maintenance and integrity of health records.

Personal initiative and the willingness to work as part of a team are expected. Work is performed under the general supervision at the level by the Health Information and Privacy Manager.
