Congratulations to Jessica Hill, RHIT! One of WHIMA’s 2023 Outstanding Student Award recipients! Jessica was recognized for this award at the WHIMA Annual Conference in Wisconsin Dells! This is the first year for the Outstanding Student Award. The objective of the award is to recognize students who are demonstrating excellence, leadership, and commitment to the HIM profession and their future career, who are student members of AHIMA and WHIMA, and who have completed two semesters at a CAHIIM Accredited School with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Jessica is a pivotal member of the WHIMA Student Engagement Team! She is a true leader! One of many examples of Jessica’s leadership skills and dedication to WHIMA was witnessed in writing the proposal for a WHIMA Student Ambassador/Liaison. She demonstrated exceptional leadership, organization, and critical thinking skills by creating objective and essential ideas for duties while articulating how the position aligns with the WHIMA strategic plan and highlighting the benefits of this role and the potential impact on future WHIMA students. Her ability to see the big picture and bring a fresh perspective to the table was impressive.
In addition to her leadership skills, Jessica has shown exceptional dedication and commitment to the student perspective of the HIM profession. She has consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of the subject matter and has applied this knowledge in practical ways, during meetings and in the work she spearheads. In addition, she has a strong work ethic and always strives for excellence in everything she does.
Jessica will significantly contribute to the HIM field in the future with her passion, drive, and skills necessary to succeed. There is no doubt, she will continue to make a positive impact on the lives of others and the HI profession!
