WHIMA 2022 Educator Award – Renee G. Friesen

Congratulations to Renee G. Friesen – WHIMA Educator Award Recipient for 2022!

Renee was recognized for this award at the WHIMA Annual Conference in Elkhart Lake! The objective of the Educator Award is to honor those who demonstrate excellence in preparing the next generation of professionals for their HIM careers, for those who teach in health information administration, technology, and other related programs and who are involved in WHIMA’s activities at the state and local levels.

Renee has been instrumental in the continued growth of the health information field through her ongoing efforts to provide health information professionals with essential coding and revenue cycle training. She is characteristically curious about any coding-related topic and exerts genuine efforts to obtain answers to questions. She shares her knowledge via WHIMA in-person or virtual webinars, internally at her place of employment, and in frantic calls made to her requesting assistance. She is always willing to lend a hand where assistance is needed, especially when it comes to sharing her vast coding knowledge. Her efforts do not go unnoticed as she frequently steps in to be a presenter at WHIMA and other educational opportunities as needs arise. Renee leads by example and maintains professionalism – characteristic of a leader and educator.

Renee – Congratulations on this well-deserved award and for promoting and grooming coding excellence within our WHIMA members!
