Congratulations to Kim Halverson, RHIT – WHIMA 2023 Rising Star Award recipient! Kim was recognized for this award at the WHIMA Annual Conference in Wisconsin Dells! This award aims to identify and honor promising new professionals who have the potential to make significant contributions to his or her career. A professional who has been credentialed within the last seven years who demonstrates contributions to local/state HIM association and exhibits significant potential for future leadership, and innovation.
Kim Halverson is the epitome of the WHIMA Rising Star Award! In addition to being a wife, mother of two with busy school schedules, and a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator at Gundersen Health Services, she is an active volunteer for WHIMA! Kim is a member of the WHIMA Professional Development Team and Fall Conference Team and Co-Lead of the WHIMA Workshop and Webinar Team. She has recently been elected as a Director on the WHIMA Board.
Other ways Kim exemplifies a Rising Star is by speaking at WHIMA education events and her willingness to accept students for Capstone projects. She mentors students by participating in the HIM Roundtable hosted by Western Technical College. She is dedicated and has a passion to encourage students to learn and grow in the HI field.
