WHIMA 2024 Annual Conference In Review

The WHIMA Annual Conference was a wonderful learning experience. It gave me the opportunity to create lasting connections through networking. Each speaker brought their individual insight and knowledge to their sessions. The sessions themselves were geared towards applicability in personal and professional settings and the keynote speaker brought essential tools for engaging in meaningful conversations. The passion for Health Information was evident in this event and it encouraged attendees to bring this energy back to their workplaces. I am eagerly anticipating the next event!

The conference this year was so much fun! It was an opportunity to connect with others in the HI community and build a local support network not just professionally, but personally. I’ve made so many incredible friends through being engaged with WHIMA. Everyone is so welcoming, friendly, and genuinely cares about building each other up for success. It’s a chance to learn about relevant topics, for students to network and maybe find a potential PPE site or leads on that hard-to-land first job, and for experienced professionals to give back by teaching, mentoring, and supporting each other. The importance of collaboration and sharing knowledge in our field cannot be overstated – it helps us make progress and keep up with the constant evolution of healthcare and all the processes that shape our roles. I can’t wait to meet more WHIMA members next year!
