The Wisconsin Health Information Management Association (WHIMA) is proud to announce that Dawn Paulson, MJ, RHIA, CHPS, has been named the recipient of the 2026 WHIMA Distinguished Member Award. Dawn was honored during the 2026 WHIMA Annual Conference on May 12, 2026, at the Glacier Canyon Conference Center in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.
The Distinguished Member Award is WHIMA’s highest honor. The award recognizes outstanding members for their loyal service to the association and their significant contributions to the health information profession. Recipients have demonstrated active involvement within WHIMA at all levels and have made meaningful contributions through publications, teaching and educational presentations, administrative activities, and by exhibiting exceptional leadership, innovation, and creativity.
Dawn exemplifies the spirit of this prestigious award through her unwavering dedication to the health information profession and to WHIMA. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to advancing health information management. She has served WHIMA in numerous leadership and volunteer roles, mentored emerging professionals, contributed to educational initiatives, and consistently supported the association’s mission of advancing excellence in health information management across Wisconsin.
In addition to her leadership within the association, Dawn has generously shared her expertise as a WHIMA conference presenter and devoted countless volunteer hours as a co-lead of the WHIMA Annual Conference, helping to provide outstanding educational experiences for members year after year. Her collaborative spirit, professionalism, and willingness to support others have strengthened both the association and the health information profession.
